Mental Approach to Being a Good Recruiter

Prospecting in network marketing can be hard and it's this lack of success in network marketing recruiting that makes people quit MLM.

But itโ€™s not impossible because everyday people who use a proven network marketing recruiting script are successfully sponsoring people.

Hereโ€™s the best part:

You donโ€™t need to be perfect nor need to know everything.

And you donโ€™t even need to be super successful yet.

What you really need is the right mindset.

Hereโ€™s the secret:

Youโ€™re not selling products.

Youโ€™re selling a dream!

Network Marketing Recruiting is About Selling Dreams

Letโ€™s get this straight.

Youโ€™re not in the business of selling shakes, vitamins, or skincare.

Youโ€™re in the business of selling hope and selling freedom.

In other words…

Network marketing recruiting is about Selling Dreams!

Think about it.

When someone buys a McDonaldโ€™s, is it because they love flipping burgers?

No!

They buy it because they believe itโ€™s a way to make money.

Itโ€™s a path to a better life.

Itโ€™s the same for network marketing recruiting.

People donโ€™t join your team because they love your product.

They join because they believe it can change their lives.

So stop focusing only on the product.

Prospecting in network marketing is about selling dreams!

5๏ธโƒฃ Common Mistakes ๐Ÿ˜ฑ That Kills MLM Recruiting Success

Here are 5 common mistakes made when prospecting in network marketing and they will kill your MLM recruiting success so make sure you don't do them!

Mistake 1: Have a Goal to Convince and Recruit Everyone ASAP!

The purpose of prospecting in network marketing is NOT to convince people.

Instead it's simply to let them know about what you're doing and to collect a decision

When your mindset is to hope everyone will join or be a customer, that will only lead to nervousness and the fear of rejection.

You also become salesy and talk to much and annoy all your contacts.

Your job is to use a proven network marketing invitation message and simply let people know about your business and to collect a decision.

It's like if you opened a new sushi restaurant and you tell all your friends about it.

You would tell everyone even if they don't like sushi because they may tell their friends about it or they may come at a later time.

Setting the Stage for Future Follow Ups

95% of the people you send out the network marketing invitation message to will NOT join.

The timing just isn't right for them.

Prospecting in network marketing is about timing and finding the right person at the right time.

When you simply let them know and collect a decision, it makes network marketing follow up easier and increases the chances someone will join or buy when the timing is right for them.

How to Get Rid of Nervousness and Fear of Prospecting in MLM

Another benefit to just letting them know is that you won't be nervous anymore!

What makes us nervous when we talk to prospects is when we โ€œhopeโ€ they will join our business because it puts TREMENDOUS PRESSURE on you.

Having this attitude increases our fear of rejection and makes us start thinking about โ€œwhat words should I sayโ€ or โ€œhow do I start the conversationโ€, etc.

We no longer become natural.

We become stiff and sound like robots.

And it's our fear of not knowing what to say or afraid the prospect will say no that makes us get nervous.

But if you had nothing on the line and don't care whether they join or not, things will become natural and we just go out and casually let others know we are in business.

That is easy.

It's easy cause we already do that everyday in our conversations.

So just let them know you are in business with no hidden agendas and your prospecting will become MUCH easier and you won't be nervous.

Summary: Difference Between Convincing Versus Collecting a Decision

GOAL: Try to Convince EveryoneGOAL: Just Let People Know
You become emotionally attached to result You focus on the activity and not the result
You get nervous because you're afraid they will say “No”You don't care what they say because your goal is to just let them know
You get discouraged easily when most people say “No”You stay emotionally consistent
Fear of Rejection will stop you from being consistentYou stay consistent with your MLM recruiting activities because there is no rejection
You will prejudge prospects and not let everyone know about your businessYou talk to everyone because your job is to simply collect a decision
You become salesy, pushy and annoyingYou approach people in professional way with a proven invite script
You lose your friends Your friends respect you
Makes network marketing follow ups difficultMakes it easy for future follow ups

Mistake 2: Only Contact Close Friends and Family when Prospecting in MLM

Another big mistake when prospecting in network marketing is prejudging people and only inviting your close friends and family and not sending the network marketing invitation script to everyone.

Here are reasons why this is huge MLM prospecting mistake

1 ) Close Friends and Family are Often the Toughest People to Recruit

These people know you very well and remember all the times you failed or didn't do something well and it's hard to convince them that this time is different.

For example, when I started my MLM business in 2003, it was extremely difficult to prospect my close friends because they all remembered how I wasn't a serious student back in college and would play video games all the time.

It's hard for our close friends and family to take us serious.

2 ) Family Are Often the Most Negative

Our family members love us but often are the most negative people to approach in network marketing prospecting.

Some may have good intentions but they often all accidentally shoot down our dreams and discourage us during the MLM recruiting process.

3 ) Your Future Super is Rarely Your Close Friend or Family

Research and success stories from top leaders all show that your top superstar leader is rarely a person that is a close friend or family member.

Top Leaders Are Usually Found From:

1 ) An acquaintance you don't know that well

2 ) A referral from someone you know

Everyone of my top leaders in my 7 figure network marketing business were acquaintances or from cold market.

4 ) Our Key Relationships in Life Usually Come From Acquaintances

It may seem odd but if you think of relationship in other areas of your life, this is more or less the norm.

If you are married or are in a relationship, chances are, your spouse was NOT a childhood friend that you grew up with.

It is most likely someone that you met from someone else or someone you met randomly.

But it is NOT someone you had known for years growing up.

And the same applies to prospecting in network marketing.

Mistake 3: Only Inviting People “You Think” Will Be Interested

This is the most common form of prejudging people in MLM prospecting.

You only send network marketing invitation script to only people who you think will be interested or to only your ideal prospect.

In my 23 + years in the profession

I have discovered that most people who you โ€œthink will do the businessโ€ generally donโ€™t do it and the ones that you โ€œnever thought would be interestedโ€ end up joining you.

So NEVER Prejudge your prospects!

You have to contact everyone.

Examples of Prejudging when Prospecting in MLM

1 ) This person loves their job and isn't business minded

The fact is you never know.

There was a point in your life that you would never have been interested but then things changed for you.

2 ) Person makes tons of money and don't need it

They may look like they're doing well but they may have financial issues, debt or other money issues that you're not aware of.

3 ) They're not may target market

Having a target audience is good for social media content but doesn't mean you should not reach out to everyone!

For example, your Auntie Grace is someone who you can't relate to and you least expect to be interested… but may lead you to your ideal prospect! You'll never be able to recruit them if you didn't let Auntie Grace know.

4 ) Their social media profiles isn't good

Just because they're not active on social media or don't post any good content on social media doesn't mean they're not good prospects nor successful!

Many successful people like doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, etc. rarely post on social media and you can't tell what they actually do.

So the boring profile without any good pictures may actually be a person that could be a top leader in your business!

So make sure you send the invitation script to everyone!

The only exception to this rule is if someone posts hate, racism or demonstrates values that go against my beliefs. I would avoid that person.

Don't Make The Decision for Others!

Remember Mistake #1 (see above) that your job is not to convince. It's simply to send out the invitation script and collect a decision.

Use the invitation script and have them make the decision.

You have no right to make that decision for others!

Mistake 4: Talking Too Much During the Initial Approach

Network Marketing Recruiting mistake when you talk too much

Remember the goal of MLM prospecting is to see whether they would be interested to learn more by using a simple network marketing invitation script.

If you don't have one, then you can use this:

Network Marketing Recruiting Script

“I'm working on something exciting. This may or may not be for you. Would you be open to taking a look?”

If They Say “No”

Congrats! You have collected a decision and done your job so kindly thank them.

You move on and then you can use one of the network marketing follow up scripts for future follow up.

If They Say “Yes”

If they say “Yes”, then use a Tool such as a company video or you can use this 5 Part Template to Create Your Own Network Marketing Video

Don't Talk to Much and Sell The Business. Use Tools!

Don't make the mistake and talk too much otherwise you will LOSE your prospect.

People always think they have to do what you and if you start talking too much and go into sales mode, people will think they have to do what you do.

What If You're Good at Selling?!

Even if you're good at selling, don't!

Because your prospects will think they have to do the same thing.

And the reality is that most people are NOT good at โ€œsellingโ€ and by watching you do one, they think they will have to be โ€œgood talkersโ€ and do the same thing.

If you do a great network marketing presentation immediately, you actually created a negative perspective in your prospect's mind because they don't believe they can do the same thing and also be good at MLM recruiting.

You're going to learn more about this later or skip ahead but I want to emphasize that during the entire network marketing recruiting process, you are actually:

What You're Really Selling When Prospecting in MLM

1 ) Selling the Dream

2 ) Selling them they can Do it

If you talk too much, go into sales mode or make things complicated, you make the prospect feel they can't do it.

Mistake 5: Think You're Bothering People Because You're Asking Them To Do a Favor

Here's an important mental shift.

Network marketing prospecting is NOT about asking people to do you a favor and take a look!

People are NOT doing you a favor

It's the opposite

You are doing them a Favor!

Reason Why You're Doing Them a Favor

You have a business or product/service that can change their lives.

They should be thanking you for sharing something that is life changing!

Gets Rid of Nervousness

You'll get nervous if you are asking someone for a favor to do something.

But if your mindset is focused on helping someone, that it comes natural to send out the invitation script.

Example of Nervousness

Imagine you're busy and ask someone,

โ€œHey, go buy me groceries. Do me a favor. Please, please, please.โ€

It feels uncomfortable, right? Because in that situation, youโ€™re asking for a favor.

Now flip it.

Imagine youโ€™re already at the grocery store, and you say,

โ€œHey, I know youโ€™re busy. Let me save you a trip and pick something you need at the grocery store. What do you need? Iโ€™ll drop it off so you can relax.โ€

That feels totally different. Why? Because now, you are helping them.

Itโ€™s the same with prospecting in network marketing.

When we focus on HELPING instead of ASKING for a Favor, MLM prospecting feels way easier.

Remember that we don't need to beg for people to take a look.

We're helping them.

Don't Thank Them!

Some distributors also get so happy and thank prospects when they're interested.

That's poor posture and also indicates you think your prospect is doing you a favor and increases skepticism.

If your business is soooo good, why should you need to thank them?!

It's like if you inherited a $100,000 and decided to give it to someone and you're thanking them for taking it!

They should be thanking you!

3 Doubts That Prevents Prospects from Joining You

Every person you approach in recruiting has 1 or all of these 3 main doubts and you must overcome them in order to achieve success in network marketing recruiting.

1 ) Is This For Real?

Some people worry itโ€™s fake or that itโ€™s a scam.

You can handle this by sharing real success stories.

Talk about others in your company who have achieved great things and the more stories you share, the more belief you build.

2 ) Can I Do This?

Many people donโ€™t believe in themselves.

They think theyโ€™re too busy to do any network marketing recruiting activities.

Or that they donโ€™t know enough people.

Show them examples of people just like them who made it work.

Share stories of busy moms, shy people, or total beginners who found success.

3 ) Can You Help Me?

Nobody wants to feel alone.

People need to know you and your team will guide and teach them how to prospect in network marketing.

This is why three-way calls and texts are so helpful.

They show prospects that they wonโ€™t have to do this alone.

Here is a list of 10 other factors that affects your network marketing success

3 Ways Calls and Importance

3 way calls are a very important element of MLM recruiting success.

If you are not using 3 way calls, you are making the process much harder for yourself.

3way calls are a must if you want to grow a team and maximize conversions.

Why 3 Way Calls Are a Must

The biggest challenge in network marketing is skepticism.

Every Prospect have 3 Doubts:

1 ) Is this for Real?

2 ) Can I do this?

3) Will you help me?

Every prospect has these 3 doubts and when you use a 3 way call, you are not just selling yourself but you're getting rid of the doubts and here is how.

Social Proof

The more people do something, the more believable it is.

If you walk past two restaurants

a) One is crowded

b) Empty

Which one seems better?

The one with more people.

More people means more credibility.

The same applies to 3 way calls.

When prospects hear from more than one person, they feel reassured that this business is real and has a support system behind it.

People Like to Belong

Humans naturally want to be part of a group. That is why people join sports teams, clubs, and social circles.

Even kids without strong family support will join gangs because they want to belong somewhere.

Network marketing works the same way.

People want to be part of a team.

A 3 way call creates an instant sense of community, making it easier for a prospect to say yes. They are not just joining you; the

y are joining a group of like-minded individuals.

Duplication Is Key

One of the biggest reasons why people donโ€™t join network marketing is because they donโ€™t believe they can do what you are doing.

If you give a perfect presentation, they will assume they need to be just as good to succeed, which is intimidating. But if they see you simply connecting them to someone else, they realize they can do the same thing.

Duplication is what creates massive success. If your process is simple and easy to copy, your team will grow much faster.

3 way calls make it simple because all you do is introduce your prospect to an expert, and they do the rest.

You Are Not Selling

A major objection people have in network marketing is, โ€œI donโ€™t like to sell.โ€

With 3 way calls, you are not selling at all. You are just a connector.

Hereโ€™s the process:

1 ) You ask someone if they are open to making extra income.

2 ) If they say yes, you send them a video.

3 ) After they watch the video, you connect them with an expert through a 3 way call.

Thatโ€™s it. No selling, no pressure, just simple connections.

This is attractive to prospects because they see that they donโ€™t have to be great salespeople either.

Borrowing Authority

When you are new to network marketing, you donโ€™t have credibility yet.

Your social media profile might not show you as a six-figure earner, and your prospects may not take you seriously.

This is where 3 way calls help.

When you introduce them to a leader who has already succeeded, your credibility instantly increases.

They will check out the leaderโ€™s profile, see their success, and respect the opportunity more.

I remember when I first started.

Someone prospected me, and at first, I was skeptical.

But when they connected me with a leader who had earned over five million dollars, I immediately paid attention. The leaderโ€™s success made me trust the process.

How to Set Up 3 Way Calls

Now that you understand why 3 way calls are so powerful, letโ€™s talk about how to set them up properly.

1. Never Ask for Permission

One big mistake people make is asking their prospect if they would like to be introduced to someone. This gives them the chance to say no. Instead, just do it.

For example, if a prospect says, โ€œThis looks interesting,โ€ immediately respond with:

โ€œI want to introduce you to my friend John. Heโ€™s been very successful, a stay-at-home dad who built an incredible business. Heโ€™s been a great mentor, and I know he can answer your questions.โ€

Then, simply add the leader to the group chat or call. Your leader will take over from there.

2. Use the ABC Method

The ABC Method stands for:

Advisor (your leader or upline)

Bridge (you)

Client (your prospect)

Your job is to connect the prospect to the leader and step back. Let the expert do the talking.

3. Edify Your Upline

One of the keys to making 3 way calls work is you must properly edify your upline.

Before introducing your leader, make sure to build them up in the prospectโ€™s eyes.

Talk about their achievements and how they have helped you and also personal things that makes your prospect relate to your upline

For example:

โ€œI want to introduce you to Steve. Heโ€™s a successful entrepreneur, a stay-at-home dad with three kids, and has built a global team. Heโ€™s been an inspiration to me, and I know he can help answer your questions.โ€

This makes your upline seem valuable and worth listening to.

How to Run a 3 Way Call

1 ) Let your upline know you have a prospect and what time they should be ready.

2 ) When you call the prospect, ask, โ€œWhat did you like best about the presentation?โ€

3 ) The moment they start talking, say, โ€œHold on for 13 seconds,โ€ and then immediately add your upline to the call.

4 ) Step back and let your upline take over.

Your job is done. The leader will handle the rest.

Introduce Your Prospect to Your Upline

Before jumping into a call, use a 3 way text message to introduce your prospect to your upline.

Remember that one of the keys to success is you must properly edify the upline.

For example:

โ€œHey Steve, meet my friend Sarah. Sheโ€™s a stay-at-home mom who has built an incredible business. Sheโ€™s been a great mentor to me. I wanted to introduce you because I know she can answer your questions.โ€

Once the leader responds, you can set up the call from there.

Important Rules to Network Marketing Prospecting

Here are some other important prospecting principles.

If you remember these principles you don't have to worry as much about the exact words to say.

Think Like Your Prospect

You must put yourself in your prospectโ€™s shoes and see things in their perspective

Just likeโ€ฆ

If you want to fish better, you have to think like a fish so that you can use a better bait!

Prospecting Principles

Here are important rules to remember

1) Donโ€™t be Desperate

The more desperate you are, the more people think less of you and don't want involvement.

2) Donโ€™t be Needy

If you're needy, you'll become desperate.

The more you chase someone, the more they will run away.

It's similar to the dating game.

The more a boy chases a girl, the more the girl plays hard to get!

3) Using the Correct Posture

You don't need them but they need you.

Why?

You are unique. There is only ONE and only you but there are hundreds of millions of people you can talk to.

4) Push Your Prospects Away to Get Them to Come To You

The fear of loss (FOMO) is the biggest motivator.

The more you don't let them have it, they more they will come.

5) Embrace the โ€œNoโ€

A “No” is fine because the purpose of prospecting is to collect a decision.

Embrace the “No” because they will allow you to move on.

The “No” won't hurt you, it's the “maybe's” that keep you up and will prevent you from staying focused on the income producing activities

Video: Psychology of Prospecting in Network Marketing

But what if you new or don't have results yet?

How to Prospect in Network Marketing When You're New or Struggling

Most people struggle to get people to join because they don't realize the real reason why people buy and join you.

Your CONFIDENCE is what will convince people

and we all need to be like this little dog here ๐Ÿ™‚

How to Be Confident with Your Prospects during network marketing prospecting

But how can you stay confident when you're new or struggling?!

Here are some fundamental principles thatโ€™ll help you recruit even if you never had success

1 ) Youโ€™re the Messenger and not the Message

2 ) Your โ€œLackโ€ of Success doesnโ€™t mean your Prospect will also be like you

3 ) Youโ€™re ALREADY More Successful than your Prospect

The video below will teach you how to prospect in network marketing if you're struggling.

A lot of people think they need to have previous results before they

Thatโ€™s not true.

You donโ€™t need to hit big goals first.

You donโ€™t need to be a top earner.

And you donโ€™t need a long list of results.

What you need is belief.

Belief in your business, what youโ€™re offering and belief in the dream youโ€™re sharing.

Even the biggest entrepreneurs started with just an idea.

Big entrepreneurs like Elon Musk never had any experience in the auto industry but started Tesla.

He had a vision and got others excited about the vision

Here's another example,

Jeff Bezos didn't have success with online stores before he built Amazon and convinced people to invest in his company. (in fact, Amazon lost millions before they turned a profit) but people believed in his dream and vision.

Other examples are the top leaders in your company.

They didn't have success when they first joined but they were confident in selling the Dream even when they had no one on their team.

You can do the same.

You don't need success to start selling people a Dream.

If you believe in what youโ€™re building, others will too.

How to Recruit When You've Failed in Network Marketing Before

It's not the end of the world if things haven't worked out in the past

This is what you should be doing if you haven't had success yet

Understand that every entrepreneur has had setbacks and challenges before they became successfu

so you're not the only one.

If you've never had success with previous businesses,

this is what you need to do now.

1 ) Prospect New People

Your current friends and warm market will be tough to convince because you've approached them too many times already about past MLM business.

You need to expand your contact list and meet new people because these prospects won't know about your past failures.

The best way to meet new prospects is using the CLAM Formula on social media.

You must meet new contacts and not approach the same people all the time.

2) Stay Consistent

No one will trust you if you're not consistent.

You must show up everyday!

Use social media mlm strategies to let people know youโ€™re active and excited about your business everyday; even on days when you donโ€™t have results

You donโ€™t need to have wins everyday.

You can simply share your journey and what youโ€™re going through.

Here are social post media ideas that will make it easier for you to meet new people.

3 ) Be Driven By Vision and Not by Results

Everything starts with you.

Make sure you're committed to the long term vision

You should be motivated by your Vision

and NOT by the lack of results.

This is especially important since results often take time

4 ) Stay in Touch with Warm Market Friends

If you stay consistent your friends will start to notice your change, commitment and consistency and many of them will become interested because they realize that things are different this time.

5 ) Get Rid of Mental Barriers

The biggest obstacle will be yourself and your negative self talk.

How to Recruit People with the 3 C's

One of the keys to being good at MLM recruitment, and especially if you're new or struggling is to Sell Your 3 C's

Sell people your

  1. Change
  2. Commitment
  3. Consistency

Sell How You've Changed

Show them how this business is changing you.

Maybe youโ€™re more confident now or youโ€™re learning new skills.

Youโ€™ve made new friends and feel more positive about your future.

People notice when you change, see your growth and this makes them believe they can grow too.

Once this happens, prospecting in network marketing becomes way easier when people feel they can experience what you've gone though.

Sell Your Commitment

Commitment is about showing up every day prospecting in network marketing.

Even when itโ€™s hard.

Even when you donโ€™t feel like it.

When people see your dedication, theyโ€™ll trust you and believe the Dream is real

And that will make them want to follow you.

Sell Your Consistency

Consistency is what separates the winners from the quitters.

Itโ€™s about doing the right things over and over again.

Even if you donโ€™t see results right away.

When people see you being consistent, it builds trust.

And that trust makes them want to join your network marketing team.

7 Essential Truths about Your MLM Prospects

Understanding people and the common traits they share is essential for connecting with others, especially when it comes to your network marketing prospects.

1) People Haven't Changed Much

People may be different ethnicities, ages, or education, but deep down everyone has the same fundamental needs.

It doesnโ€™t matter if we are Gen X, Gen Y, Baby Boomers, etc., we are all HUMAN!

We may have different interests, but our fundamental needs are the same. Mankind has not changed much in the last 7,000 years.

Remember that every prospect has the same needs and there are common strategies that you can apply to all MLM prospects.

2) People Want to Be Heard

When my kids where young, they wanted my attention at all times.

They would say, “Daddy this,” “Daddy that,” nonstop.

Perhaps that is why my boys make me so tired!

Adults are the same, however.

Although adults don't yell, “Look at me,” to the world, but deep down we all want the world to pay attention to us.

That's one of the reasons why social media is so popular. It's our way of saying to the world,

“Look at me! Look at what I ate for breakfast! Look at what I did today!”

When it comes to your MLM prospects, make sure you let them voice their concerns.

Give them the opportunity to talk and let them know you want to hear them out and not just take their time to pitch something.

The more they talk, the more they will like you.

3) People Think in Stories

Just like my kids love a good bedtime story, your MLM prospects also remember in stories.

They will never remember the details of your company, nor how amazing your products are, but they will remember the lessons contained in the stories you share.

Learning to tell a good story is part of my Effective Presentation Formula. Stories keep your MLM prospects engaged so they donโ€™t get bored during your presentation.

4) People Avoid Pain First

Our lizard brains that were developed during caveman days were wired to survive.

That meant staying as far away from pain as possible.

Only when humans are free from pain can they start thinking about what will make them happy.

When you present to your network marketing prospects, emphasize Fear of Loss, (e.g. no retirement, not being able to afford an increase in the standard of living, can't pay for kid's college, etc.), more than the desire for gain (e.g., fancy car, travel to exotic places, etc.)

When you emphasize Fear of Loss it will also allow you to connect better with prospects since most of them have given up on their dreams a long time ago.

Deep down they don't believe that buying that fancy car is possible.

Showing them the insecure future and what they may lose out on is a much stronger motivator than talking about potential gains.

This is the same reason why an army defending its homeland always has a higher rate of victory than the conquerors.

Homeland defenders fight harder.

The possibility of losing what you have is the best way to get someone to take action and work harder.

5) People Decide Emotionally

Humans are emotional creatures and we always make buying decisions based on emotion.

Afterward, we justify the emotional decisions with logic.

That is how our entire economy functions and why people go shopping.

In this day and age, there is no logic to buying new clothes or gadgets.

What we have at home is enough to fulfill our needs, but the advertisers are able to build an emotional connection that makes us want to buy more.

We buy because of emotion, and afterward, we go home and back up our decision with logic.

Shoppers know this very well.

They see a pair of jeans they love, and they go buy it because emotionally they are drawn to it.

After they go home, they justify it with logic by saying it was a great deal, or it matches the new shoes they got last week.

Make sure you get your MLM prospects emotionally charged up.

Some examples of emotion are fear (uncertain financial future), guilt (the jobs are taking time away from family), or excitement over a promising future.

Once you are able to stir up emotion, make sure you don't make the mistake of talking yourself out of the sale by providing too many details.

Go for the close right away.

Your can provide all the details later during training.

6) People Crave Strong Relationships

Since the caveman days, we cherish time around the campfire where we can share and bond with others.

Your MLM prospects also value strong relationships. They want to be loved by others.

Make sure you can show your network marketing prospects that your business can provide them with more time with their loved ones so that they can have better relationships.

Another thing to emphasize is the new relationships that will develop once they join your team.

Many prospects who don't have good relationships at home often find comfort in direct selling because the team welcomes, nurtures, and treats them with respect.

The team provides them with the relationship bonds that are not available at home.

7) People Want to Leave a Legacy and Be Remembered

Humans know their time on earth is limited and everyone wants to be remembered.

That's why kids etch their names on wooden desks in school, and millionaires donate to universities so that buildings can be named after them.

Adults with children want to make a lasting impression that their younger generation will be remember.

When you prospect in network marketing, make sure you emphasize that your business is something that can be passed to future generations.

An MLM business is something that can be given to your family when you die, a job is not.

When you build a successful MLM business, not only does it provide a financial future for you, it enables you to leave something for your children.

Another way to implement this is to remind your MLM prospects that when they achieve time freedom with their MLM business, it will allow them to pursue bigger things in life, such as giving back and charity.

There are many prospects that want to give back, but unfortunately they can't, due to the time and financial commitments from their job.

Passive income from their MLM business will allow them to pursue their passion to help others and leave a lasting legacy.

What you post on social media will increase your success in network marketing recruitment especially if you post things of value.

People will become less skeptical and trust you more when you share your dream.

Building Your Self Belief

Network marketing recruiting is simple but not easy.

It's easy to get down and think you're a failure when you struggle.

But once you feel this way, it's going to be difficult for you to achieve any network marketing success because your enthusiasm and excitement in the Dream is gone

and people will see that and no longer trust what you have is real.

Here's a video on how to be a good recruiter that will help you increase your belief in yourself.

What Happens if The Prospect Says “No”

You must understand that people are not saying “No” to you

They're simply saying “Not now” and they're not rejecting you.

You can use the Rejection Killer to help you overcome your fear of rejection

Prospecting is About Sorting

Before I share what SWSWSW stands for

I want to be clear

If your prospect immediately tells you “No” when you approach them

then you apply SWSWSW

But if it's after a presentation and you feel that the prospect was interested

then you must do everything to close them and make the sale

But if they tell you immediately “No”

then you apply SWSWSW

SWSWSW

SWSWSW stands for

Some will

Some won't

So what?!

You move on!

You're in the sorting business

and NOT to convince prospects

Prospecting is About Timing

Hereโ€™s the truth.

Not everyone will say yes.

80% of the people you approach will say “No”

Prospecting in network marketing is about timing

“No” does not mean “No forever”

It simply means “Not now”

Finding the right person at the right time

That's why you must always stay consistent

Every Prospect Will Eventually Do 3 Things

1) Buy

2) Join

3) Give you a Referral

but probably “Not now”

Once you understand this,

You'll realize the key to success is Consistency and Follow Ups

Stay Consistent Everyday

Make sure you stay consistent with THE DMO and income producing activities

so that when the timing is right

the prospect will think of you and maybe even reach out to you

How to Recruit Gen Z and Get Them Interested

Eric Worre recently talked about how Gen Z (those under 30) are the fastest growing demographic in network marketing

This generation have seen their parents and grandparents struggle and are more open to opportunities

So how do you attract them especially when you're much older?!

How to recruit Gen Z into network marketing tutorial

Here are a few tips to building a younger team

1 ) Get to know Gen Z and what their Problems and Struggles

What keeps them up at night?

What are the 3 biggest things that stress them out?

What motivates them?

What are they NOT into?

What are things they feel are messed up and needs to change?

No one cares about what you have until you care about them first.

If you don't know the answers to these questions, you can simply spend some time researching online

2 ) Where do Gen Z hang out?

You need to go to where they're at so you need to know:

What social media platforms do they use the most?

Where do they hang out?

3 ) Use Social Media to Provide Solutions and Tips to Help Them with Their Problems

You always get paid for the value you give

Find ways to talk about things that will help Gen Z

This can be as simple as creating Tiktok videos that they like

4 ) Find a Person that Can Connect You

Often the key to connecting with someone younger is to be friends with a Gen Z that will introduce you to their friends.

One of the top leaders that I know was in her 60s and could not connect w these “kids” that were 25 and under.

She got her youngest son, who was in his late 20s to go meet these kids and they connected immediately.

Her son was able to signup one kid and that kid ended up indirectly bringing in a team of over 5,000 people once the trust was built

How to Convince People Who Are Not Interested in MLM

Don't waste time to convince close minded prospects in network marketing

Are you tired of dealing with people who have ZERO interest?

No matter what you do nor say, they never do anything!

The SMART way to handle close minded people is NOT to waste your valuable time to convince them.

It's a lose lose situation

You Are In the Sorting Business

The purpose of your Contact List is NOT to convince people.

Your goal is to GET THEM OFF the List.

You want to COLLECT A DECISION.

Rememberโ€ฆThe โ€œYesโ€ is great!

and the โ€œNOโ€™sโ€ wonโ€™t kill your business

but the ones who you never hear from will or constantly give you negative energy will!

Do you have a negative prospect that drives you nuts?!

don't waste time on prospects that don't get network marketing.

Stop Talking to Negative Prospects!

Prospecting in network marketing is about sorting and not convincing people

and finding the right person at the right time

โ†’ so Stop wasting your time on people who donโ€™t want it now

The timing isnโ€™t right for them

โ†’ But eventually every person will buy, join or give you a referral.

Donโ€™t convince your prospects.

โ†’ Outlast them with your Consistency

so when the timing is right, they will reach out to you or you can follow up with them every 6 months

But don't waste time with them now.

Here's why…

1 ) No matter what you say, these people will never join.

They will never let you “win the fight” and agree you're right and they're wrong

2 ) They suck up your time and energy

You're not going to be motivated to continue to reach out to new people and work on your income producing activities

3 ) You miss out on opportunities to find the good people

Staying focused in network marketing and in the income producing activities

There is a time to convince though and it's only after someone has attended a presentation.

but if someone is not interested immediately from the start, it's best to move on.

This MLM training video will explain more in detail

Remember that your MOST valuable asset is TIME!

Don't waste time to convince prospects!

And that TIME needs to be spent on the income producing activities and finding the people that want it.

How to Be Shy and Still Become Successful in Network Marketing

How to overcome shyness and be successful in network marketing recruiting

If you're shy and get scared to prospect, here are 5 tips to help you:

1 ) Focus On Helping Others Instead of Yourself

You create fear when you think of what others will think of you

Shift the focus on helping OTHERS instead of yourself!

Stop letting your ego and pride stop you from helping someone that needs it

2 ) Focus on Collecting a Decision Instead of Making a Sale

We talked in the beginning of this guide that the 1st big mistake that network marketing distributors make in prospecting is they approach their contact list with the goal to sponsor everyone.

A proper Invite is NOT to convince everyone you know to join your business.

Such unrealistic expectations only lead to disappointment and also makes you annoying and too salesly to your contacts.

It makes you nervous, desperate and it turns off your prospects.

Your goal should be to simply let them know about your business

It's NOT to convince them nor make a sale

You're out there to collect decisions

3 ) You Can Turn It “On” and “Off”

I'm shy and introverted as well.

What I've learned is that you can be shy and still be successful.

It's just a matter of turning things “on” and “off”

You have a switch

that you can “turn on” and be outgoing when you prospect

and then you can “turn it back off” after you're done with prospecting

4 ) Increase Your Belief In Your Products and Company

If you really believe that you're helping someone

then you won't let shyness hold you back.

If your neighbor's backyard was on fire,

would you let your shyness prevent you from knocking the door and telling your. neighbor?

5 ) Apply the 10 Steps to The Rejection Killer

A major source of fear comes from your fear of rejection

Fear of Network Marketing Rejection and how to overcome it in your MLM business

You can use the 10 Steps to the Rejection Killer to help you stay consistent

Step 1: Theyโ€™re Not Rejection You

Step 2: Change Your Mindset About Who Loses

Step 3: Change Your Self Talk

Step 4: They are NOT Doing You a Favor

Step 5: Visualize Success Before You Reach Out

Step 6: Talk to As Many People As Possible

Step 7: You Get Paid for Every โ€œNoโ€

Step 8: Track Your Numbers

Step 9: Meet New Contacts All The Time

Step 10: Play the 10% Game

How to Prospect Without Being Annoying or Spammy

Don't Spam!

How to Prospect in Network Marketing without being spammy

What is spam?

Spam is when you send information or a link when the person did not express any interest.

This applies to commenting, messaging, social media posts, etc.

Here's how it applies to your posts…

When people have to see your posts about your products and business

even though they're not interested

that can be considered spam.

If you do this enough times,

people will unfollow you and block you.

But if people are interested,

then it's okay to send them info.

3 Prospecting Rules So You Don't Lose Your Friends

The best way to prospect and convince is when the person doesn't feel like you're selling them or pressuring them

How to Prospect in Network Marketing so You're Not Annoying and Lose Your Friends

Here are important principles

1 ) Give Them a Way Out

People don't like it when they feel obligated to look at your presentation.

Always give them the option to say “No” when you approach them

This is one of the reasons why The Magic Script works so well.

“I'm working on something exciting. This may or may not be for you. Would you be open to taking a look?”

This script isn't pushy because it gives them the option to say “No”

2 ) Don't Say They Must Need It

People don't like to be told what to do or what they should do.

When you do that,

they immediately feel you don't know them and that you can't relate to them.

Always make the prospect feel what you have to offer may not be for them.

That's another reason why the Magic Script works so well.

It has the words

“may or may not be for you”

3 ) Make Them Feel They're the One Making the Decision

The best way to sell and convince prospects is when the person doesn't feel like you're selling them or pressuring them

This is especially important during the end of a presentation and at the close.

Asking questions and getting prospects to see the solution themselves is the best way to close and convince

Don't Get Desperate Nor Needy

There are billions of people in this world so you don't need them but they need you.

Remember,

you'll there to sort and not to convince.

How to Followup Without Being Annoying

Prospecting is about TIMING and finding the right person at the right time

so thatโ€™s why the Fortune is in the Follow up!

You keep following up and youโ€™ll eventually get your prospect to join or buy when the timing is right but you have to do it without being annoying and follow this good follow up schedule

3๏ธโƒฃ Step Prospecting Process to Get Customers

Network marketing how to get customers process

1) Use the Same Invite Script

You use the same proven script as you would if you were prospecting for business builders.

“I'm working on something exciting. This may or may not be for you. Would you be open to taking a look?”

If they say “Yes” or “What is it?”, then you move to the next part

If they say “No”, then you just say “No worries, this is not for you then” and you take it away

Don't change the words.

** When you use the same script, it makes the business simpler and more duplictable.

2) Share Your Story

Many people make the mistake of either sending a video that is way too long or talks too much about the products and business

If you do this,

no one will buy.

Share with them how the products have helped you and why you're doing what you do.

You can follow this short template and even make this into a short 2 minute video

Your Product Story Video Template

1 ) Life Before You Started Using Your Product

2 ) How You Came Across the Product

3 ) Your Initial Reaction (Eager, Sketical, etc.?)

4 ) How Has Your Life Changed?

5 ) Your Mission and Purpose (Why you do what you're doing)

Here is a more detailed training on how to create this short prospecting video

3) Share A Company Video About the Product

if they still want to learn more, then you can send them a company video about the products and then jump onto a 3 way call or text and take the order.

5 Step Customer Follow Up System to Get Them to Reorder

If youโ€™re not following up with your customers, youโ€™re leaving money on the table.

Most distributors either donโ€™t follow up at all or only reach out when itโ€™s time to reorder. The problem? That makes customers feel like theyโ€™re just a sale, not someone you genuinely care about.

The real key to long-term success? Selling consumption.

Just because someone buys a product doesnโ€™t mean theyโ€™ll use it. Think about the books youโ€™ve bought but never read or the groceries that sit untouched in your fridge. The same thing happens with your customers. If they donโ€™t use the product, they wonโ€™t reorder.

This 5-step customer follow-up system ensures your customers stay engaged, see results, and keep ordering from you.

Step 1: Follow Up ASAP When They Get the Product

The moment your customer receives the product is crucial. Excitement is at its peak, but so is the potential for buyerโ€™s remorse. If they delay using it, they may never start.

Your goal: Get them to start using the product immediately.

Pro tip: Speed up the process!

If you have extra inventory, deliver the product yourself and have them return their order to you once it arrives. This eliminates wait time and ensures they start right away.

If you canโ€™t deliver in person, at least check in with a message:

โ€œHey [Name], your order should be arriving soon! Let me know when you get it so I can help you get the best results.โ€

Step 2: Follow Up 1-2 Days Later

Many customers get their product but donโ€™t use it right away. Thatโ€™s why this follow-up is key.

Send a quick text or voicemail:

โ€œHey [Name], just checking in! Have you started using the product yet? Let me know if you have any questions!โ€

They may not reply, but thatโ€™s okay. The message serves two purposes:

1. Great customer service โ€“ It shows you care.

2. A subtle reminder โ€“ It nudges them to start using the product.

Step 3: Follow Up One Week Later

By now, they should be using the product. This is another opportunity to check in and reinforce the habit.

Send a simple message:

โ€œHey [Name], just wanted to see how youโ€™re doing with the product! Let me know how youโ€™re feeling.โ€

Most people wonโ€™t reply, but theyโ€™ll appreciate the outreach. This builds trust and keeps them engaged with the product.

Step 4: Follow Up One Month Later (Time to Reorder!)

This is the critical momentโ€”when they need to reorder. But donโ€™t assume they will! Even if theyโ€™re on auto-ship, many customers hesitate or forget.

Reach out with a message that helps them see the value of continuing:

โ€œHey [Name], youโ€™ve been using the product for a month now! How are you feeling? If you want to keep seeing results, letโ€™s get your next order set up.โ€

Pro tip: Always โ€œsellโ€ the reorder. Remind them of their progress and the benefits theyโ€™ve experienced.

Step 5: Follow Up Monthly (Long-Term Retention)

After their reorder, continue reaching out once a month. This keeps customers engaged and opens the door to upselling other products.

Ways to do this:

โœ… Personal messages โ€“ A simple text checking in.

โœ… Email updates โ€“ Share testimonials, tips, or product specials.

โœ… Facebook group posts โ€“ Tag them in updates or new product launches.

โœ… Exclusive offers โ€“ Run small promotions or giveaways to keep them engaged.

Example message:

โ€œHey [Name], just wanted to share a quick tip on getting the best results with [product name]! Also, we have a new [related product] that I think youโ€™d love. Let me know if youโ€™d like to try a sample!โ€

This is also a great time to increase their order size by introducing complementary products.

Why This Works

This 5-step system builds trust, engagement, and long-term customers. Most people focus on getting new sales, but increasing reorders is just as important (and easier!).

๐Ÿ“Œ Summary of the 5-Step Follow-Up System:

โœ”๏ธ ASAP: When they get the product, ensure they start using it.

โœ”๏ธ 1-2 Days Later: Check-in to reinforce consumption.

โœ”๏ธ One Week Later: Keep them engaged.

โœ”๏ธ One Month Later: Sell the reorder.

โœ”๏ธ Monthly Ongoing: Maintain the relationship for retention.

By consistently following up, youโ€™ll create happier customers, more reorders, and bigger team growth.

Recruiting Process: Order of Escalation

If you want to be successful in recruiting, you have to under the proper order of escalation.

A variation of this is what some people call BAMFAM, (Book a Meeting from a Meeting)

Order of escalation means every interaction with your prospect should lead to a bigger interaction that requires more time commitment.

You start small and then get bigger and bigger.

For example,

If you wanted to recruit an old friend you haven't talked to in years…

The first interaction would be a text message (little time commitment) and then eventually leading to a phone call (more time commitment) and then ultimately meeting you for an hour for coffee (even more time)

Text -> Phone -> Face to Face

If you haven't talked to them in years, it would be awkward to just meet face to face for coffee immediately. You would text a few times

It's the same thing for prospecting.

Text – > Invite Them – > Video -> Zoom -> Face to Face -> Hotel Meeting

No one will just go to a hotel meeting without knowing what it's about because it's a huge time cost.

Remember that your watching your network marketing presentation is NOT free.

It costs your prospect time that they'll never get back.

If you follow this rule, you will get much better recruiting results.

Phone Better Than Texting?

Is recruiting on the phone better than texting?

Network marketing recruiting by talking on phone or text?

Generally the answer is โ€œthe phone is almost always betterโ€ than text but there are important exceptions

Why Phone is Almost Always Better

Successful prospecting in network marketing involves reading your prospect.

Thatโ€™s why most traditional businesses all like to meet in person.

The more you can use your 5 senses the better

because you get to see if your prospect is paying attention, really interested or have hidden objections.

This is ESPECIALLY important when you close your prospect.

Here is an example:

If someone just texts back โ€œI donโ€™t have the moneyโ€,

You donโ€™t know if that person is sincerely tight on funds or just using that as an excuse.

But if you meet the person face to face and see that the person is sad and disappointed when she says โ€œI donโ€™t have the moneyโ€,

that person is probably more sincere than someone that just says โ€œI donโ€™t have moneyโ€ quickly and looks away.

You can also read the body language of a person or the sound of their voice.

Face to face is always best and second best would be a face to face Zoom.

The more you can see the person and read their facial gestures, body language, tone of voice, etc., the better.

You should always get the person on a face to face zoom during a closing call.

Now, letโ€™s talk about the exceptions especially during the initial reach out.

Use Whatโ€™s Best For Your Prospect

A good rule to remember is that always do whatโ€™s best for your prospect.

Here's an example,

If your prospect is older and not used to zoom, then a phone call would be better than a video zoom or call.

Never let the prospect feel that they wonโ€™t be able to do the business.

Use a Text Instead of Phone During Initial Reach Out

Someone who doesnโ€™t know what you have to offer may be reluctant to take the time to get on the phone and that's because you have to follow the order of escalation.

They may also be busy and donโ€™t want to get distracted.

So sending a text message is usually better on the initial reach out.

Afterwards, you can send them a video and if theyโ€™re still interested,

then you get them on a face to face zoom or phone.

Audio / Video Messages

Sending Audio and Video messages are also a good way if the prospect canโ€™t get on the phone.

It adds the personal touch when someone gets to see you and hear from you.

Remember that people buy from those they know, like and trust and audio and video messages allows you to connect with your prospect better.

Use the Phone for LinkedIn Prospects

LinkedIn is used for business/ work and people are used to getting on the phone to talk business.

Unlike other social media platforms, people donโ€™t use LinkedIn to message back and forth.

When you reach out and prospect people on LinkedIn,

itโ€™s important to get them on the phone immediately before you send them a presentation.

Prospecting During the Holiday Season ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ

Should you prospect during the holidays?

network marketing training blog on network marketers in holiday season

There are 3 types of network marketers during the holidays

3 Types of Distributors During the Holiday Season

1 ) Focused on Personal Production

The people who have been focused on making personal sales and do well throughout the year and will continue to do well during the holidays.

Hereโ€™s a good rule to follow

90% of your time needs to be spent on THE DMO and income producing activities until you make $10k a month

2 ) In Management Mode

These distributors do very little personal production

They are in full management mode and just spend their time training and managing downlines.

They hope theyโ€™ll be able to motivate their downlines into action without spending any time on personal recruiting.

This group of people will only see their incomes drop and downlines will quit regardless of how much they talk to them

Management mode is the kiss of death for your business

3 ) Mentally Totally Out of It

This last group of people are in full holiday mode and donโ€™t pay any attention to building their businesses

They think people are too busy or itโ€™s bad to bother people during the holidays

They lie to themselves saying that theyโ€™ll get back to it when the holidays are over.

without realizing that itโ€™s super hard to get back into things if youโ€™ve been out of it for over 4 weeks

These people will earn nothing and their business will go to zero

Which Group Are You?!

Make sure you focus on your income producing activities!

7 Reasons Why You Should Prospect During the Holidays

A common question is should you prospect during the holiday season?

Should you prospect in network marketing during the holiday season?

You may not do as much as you usually do during the holidays

but the answer is โ€œYes!โ€

Here is why you should be prospecting during the holidays and focused on the income producing activities

1 ) Everyday is a Good Day to Prospect

I learned this lesson back in 2003 when I first started.

My original sponsor told me weekends wasn't a good time to prospect because people aren't focused

I soon discovered that was the reason he never earned any money!

He was a nice guy but never successful.

Then my mentor taught me that EVERYDAY is a good time to prospect!

For example

Let's just talk about the weekends

Some people say that weekends are a bad time to prospect because people are busy

but for some people that work a lot in the weekdays

the weekends are the only time they have a moment to think about what you have to offer

Same applies for the holidays

Plus…

Never prejudge!

You NEVER know what another person is thinking

the one person you don't reach out to could be the one that desperately needs help during the holidays

2 ) People Are Reflective At The End of the Year

Almost everyone thinks back to the year that passed

and what could have been better.

That's why people set New Year's goals.

During the holidays,

People are thinking about the money they've spent or don't have

or how to have better relationships .

This is the PERFECT time for you

to let them know something that can change their lives

3 ) People May Have DownTime During the Holidays

They may have a few days off where they can actually have time to read your messages and reply back.

Even if they don't have the time

they're reflective and will take the time to look at things that will make next year better

4 ) Great Time to Meet New Contacts

We're in the networking business and you NEVER stop prospecting

because you should always want to meet new people and build up your database

Holidays are also a great time to meet new people at parties and expand your network

5 ) Great Time to Reinforce Relationships

Get togethers and parties are also great time to warm up those people you haven't been in touch with.

Of course there is a right way and wrong way to do it.

Don't prospect these people at these parties

Your goal is to simply reconnect, be friends and find ways to provide value

6 ) Don't Overthink

The reason why

everyday is a good time to prospect!

is because if you don't follow this rule

you can easily overthink things

and overthinking causes procrastination and kills your consistency

7 ) Hard to Get Back if You Stop

For those that take a long break from the gym know what this means

Prospecting is a routine

and if you stop for a few days

it's going to be really hard to get back on track.

If you're not sure what to do during the holidays, you just focus on working the income producing activities.

You don't need to do a lot but you need to do something everyday.

Recruiting at Local Events

This section will talk about to build your business at offline events such as networking events, conferences, BNI (Business Network International), Meetups, etc.

Why Events Are Great for Recruiting

Events are unique gatherings that bring people together for a shared purpose.

Whether they are large-scale conferences, intimate workshops, or social meet-ups, events provide an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect.

Attending events allows individuals to step out of their comfort zones, gain new perspectives, and engage with people who share similar interests.

Participating in events offers a chance to explore new ideas and gain insights from experts.

These gatherings can introduce attendees to cutting-edge industry trends, personal development strategies, or innovative business opportunities.

More importantly, events create an environment where meaningful connections can be made and allowing you to expand your contact list.

The Magic of Networking

One of the biggest advantages of attending events is the opportunity to network and expand your contact list.

Networking is more than just exchanging business cards.

Itโ€™s about building genuine relationships that can benefit both personal and professional growth.

By meeting new people, you expose yourself to fresh perspectives and potential opportunities that you may not have encountered otherwise.

Networking is essential for success in many areas of life.

It can lead to new customers, new team members, mentorships, and even lifelong friendships.

Engaging in conversations with new people expands your knowledge and broadens your horizons.

The more you network, the more doors you open for yourself.

How to Start a Conversation at an Event

Approaching new people at events can feel intimidating, especially if you are naturally introverted or shy.

However, starting a conversation doesnโ€™t have to be complicated.

Here are some simple ways to break the ice:

  • Begin with a friendly greeting: A simple โ€œHelloโ€ or โ€œNice to meet youโ€ can go a long way.
  • Ask open-ended questions: Try questions like โ€œWhat do you think about this event?โ€ or โ€œWhat brought you here today?โ€
  • Show genuine interest: Listen actively and respond thoughtfully to keep the conversation engaging.
  • Find common ground: Whether itโ€™s a shared interest or similar professional background, connecting over common topics helps build rapport.
  • Be yourself: Authenticity is key to creating lasting connections.

Making a Lasting Impression

First impressions matter, and how you present yourself at an event can determine how people remember you.

Here are some key ways to leave a positive impact:

  • Smile and maintain eye contact: A warm, friendly demeanor makes you more approachable.
  • Dress appropriately: Your attire should match the formality of the event while allowing you to feel confident and comfortable.
  • Remember names: Addressing someone by their name during a conversation makes them feel valued and strengthens the connection.
  • Be polite and professional: Courtesy and kindness go a long way in making a strong impression.

The Importance of Following Up

Meeting people at an event is just the first step because what truly matters is maintaining those connections afterward.

Follow-up communication is essential for solidifying relationships and ensuring that the conversation continues beyond the event.

  • Send a follow-up message: A simple email or text saying, โ€œIt was great meeting you at the event! I enjoyed our conversation about [topic]. Letโ€™s stay in touch!โ€ keeps the connection alive.
  • Connect on social media: Platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram are great tools for staying engaged with new contacts.
  • Schedule a follow-up meeting: If relevant, suggest a coffee meet-up or virtual call to further discuss mutual interests.
  • Offer value: Share a helpful article, introduce them to someone in your network, or invite them to another relevant event.

Tips for Making the Most of Events

To maximize your experience at any event, preparation and active participation are key.

Here are some tips to help you get the most out of networking opportunities:

  • Set clear goals: Know what you want to achieve at the event, whether itโ€™s learning something new, making a certain number of connections, or meeting a specific person.
  • Come prepared: Bring business cards, have your contact information easily accessible, and have a brief introduction ready.
  • Be an active listener: Pay attention to what others are saying and respond thoughtfully.
  • Engage in group discussions: Donโ€™t be afraid to join group conversations and contribute your insights.
  • Take notes: Jot down key takeaways and the names of people youโ€™d like to follow up with later.
  • Stay open to opportunities: Sometimes, the best connections happen unexpectedly.

Be open to meeting new people, even outside of your immediate industry or area of interest.

Overcoming Challenges at Events

Networking isnโ€™t always easy, and itโ€™s normal to feel nervous or unsure about approaching new people.

Hereโ€™s how to overcome some common networking challenges:

Focus on the quality of interactions rather than the quantity.

  • Struggling to follow up? Set a reminder to reach out within a few days after the event while the conversation is still fresh.

The Benefits of Attending More Events

The more events you attend, the more comfortable and skilled you become at networking.

Every event is an opportunity to learn, expand your social and professional circles, and discover new possibilities.

Over time, networking becomes second nature, and youโ€™ll find yourself making connections effortlessly.

Additionally, repeated event attendance allows you to build a reputation within your industry or community.

People start recognizing your name, remembering past conversations, and viewing you as a valuable connection.

This not only enhances your personal growth but also increases your chances of being introduced to influential individuals who can further your career or business.

Summary of Recruiting Success at Events

Events and networking are powerful tools for personal and professional growth.

They provide a platform to learn from others, exchange ideas, and build meaningful relationships.

The key is to approach networking with confidence, authenticity, and a willingness to connect.

Every conversation is a chance to learn, and every person you meet could lead to new opportunities.

So step out, engage with others, and make every event countโ€”your next great connection might be just one handshake away.
